WHITTLING WORKSHOP : DRAWING FROM THE WELL
Led by empathetic guides skilled in both woodworking and storytelling, an environment of safety will be provided for participants to navigate the process of translating their most intimate stories into intricately carved works of art. Through the medium of wood carving, attendees will have the opportunity to express their struggles and triumphs that characterize their familial experiences, transforming raw material into tangible symbols of resilience and hope.
Throughout the workshop, participants will not only learn the technical intricacies of whittling – from selecting the appropriate wood and tools to mastering carving techniques – but also how to infuse their creations with the depth of emotion that lies at the heart of their family connections.
This is a space for shared vulnerability, healing, and connection. As participants carve and shape their craft, they will reflect on the pains they've endured, the sorrows they've weathered, and the joys they've celebrated.
Attendees will find solace in the knowledge that they are not alone in their struggles, and strength in the bonds forged through their shared vulnerability.
No prior experience in whittling or storytelling is required to participate – only a willingness to delve into the depths of one's own heart and share in the collective experiences of the group.
Whether seeking catharsis, closure, or simply a space to honor the complexities of our familial legacies, participants are invited to join us for a transformative workshop that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit.
